A great little ice-cream shop and old fashioned candy corner in Coral Springs. While the original Jaxsons in Dania Beach was a favorite growing up, this is a great little substitute on this side of town. The only nitpick would be the menu. There are far more items they could offer surrounding the ice creams they make. Keeping it simple however is likely what keeps the traffic flowing at this location. Be sure to check out the old school backroom before leaving to see items from your youth (or your parents).

It's like walking through a door and instantly being 7 again! The sounds and smells remind me of the little ice cream shop around the corner from my house as a kid. They make their ice cream on site!! This really has to be a once in a great while treat for me (lactose...age...sucks), but what a treat it is!! I got a chocolate malt, because, dude...it's a chocolate malt! They don't ahve lactaid here, so I brought my own. It was wonderful! The candy selection is like getting in a time machine! Necco wafers, candy cigarettes, root beer barrels, gummy coke bottles, wax bottles...you name it, it's here. You should come here.

It was incredibly dysfunctional and chaotic and I believe that between the close proximity of the tables and the people waiting in line out the door to order, it must not be inspected regularly by the Coral Springs Fire Department. $18 for a waffle cone with 1 very large scoop, a 1 topping sundae and a bottle of water these prices certainly don't go back to the era they are trying to make you feel like you are in. Honestly, the regular ice cream was ok, the sugar free ice cream below average, and my visit absolutely left me unable to find out why people rave about this place. Even if they figured out a better system at the counter I have to say that the biggest reason of all that I won't return is that one of the nostalgia candy items they sell are candy cigarettes. This is a disgrace. In this day and age when we know the harmful effects of tobacco, and that the candy attempts to make cigarettes look like fun, they should not be sold at a family style establishment.

Cherry Smash is THE place for Ice Cream and fun in Coral Springs. Open late on weekends and packed till closing, follow the crowd to the best Ice Cream and the coolest decor in South Florida. How could I live in Coral Springs for 15 years and never come to Cherry Smash until tonight? Well that all changed when my girlfriend wanted Ice cream late night. Arriving at Cherry Smash at 10:45pm (15 min before closing) we found the place packed with customers enjoying the unique decor and the absolutely fantastic homemade ice cream. Walking into Cherry Smash you are instantly transported to that old ice cream shop you knew as a kid. With lots of curious items to browse, towers of lollipops, and large jars of candy, you could almost miss the freezer case of homemade ice cream that is the star attraction. The Ice cream here is homemade and it is absolutely fantastic. With old favorites like Fudge Brownie, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Rum Raisin and truly creative flavors like "Superman" and cotton candy ice cream (it really tastes like cotton candy), it's really hard to choose. I chose a double with mint chocolate chip and fudge brownie, my girlfriend chose the cotton candy ice cream that came with real cotton candy in top. They were both excellent. (See pictures on Yelp) The service here was excellent even 10 min before closing. I was met with a smile and happiness even though I could tell that the staff was tired from a long days work. I just can't say enough about this place. It's a "must try" if you live here in Coral Springs and it's worth a drive here if you don't. If you haven't taken your kids to Cherry Smash at least once, then you are robbing them of a happy childhood memory they will treasure forever. If you take the time to visit for yourself, you'll be reminded of how Ice Cream shops used to be when you were a kid. Believe me it will take you back. I'll give Cherry Smash 5 Stars but only because that's the most I can give. This family business has a great vibe with fantastic ice cream. You must go try it.
(5)Joe D.
Old fashion ice cream parlor without having to drive 30-45mins to jaxsons! Good variety of great ice cream with a fantastic atmosphere. I'm simply in love with this place, and highly recommend anyone check it out.
(5)Rich M.
When walking through the doors, you'll be instantly transported back in time to a 50's style ice cream shop (something like Marty McFly did in the movie "Back To The Future"). Classic music, great retro candy, mega marshmallows, salted pretzels and a good selection of classic and new ice cream flavors, but the highlight is the "Antiques Roadshow meets American Pickers museum" in the back of the store! Obviously, the owner has been an avid collector of everything vintage, especially from the 50's including, fire truck (yes, a real truck inside), gas pumps w/ glass tops, ceramic Soda/Gas Ad signs, telephone switchboard, working Zoltan machine (like the one from the movie "Big"), "National" cash register and hundreds of other cool items! It gives the shop a great vibe and definitely a one-of-a-kind experience in S. FL (a must see). This is a great place to take your out-of-town visitors, parents, grandparents, kids and friends. Note: they have recently expanded their seating (from 6 tables to 20+), so you're more likely to grab a seat than if you went 6 months ago and can also accomodate birthday parties for young kids. Btw, make sure to look at all the pictures on ceiling (see anyone you might know) and try to find the train that runs throughout the shop. Enjoy and have fun going back in time!!!
(4)Monica F.
Awesome ice cream. It was pretty busy in here. I came in on a Saturday night. The line was stretching out a bit past the door, and most of the seats were full. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The peanut butter chocolate ice cream was amazing and had real chunks of good peanut butter. The cookie dough topping was pretty good also. The inside of the ice cream shop was very retro and had cool candy decorations.

If you take this place for what it is - fun, nostalgia-induced, neighborhood ice cream shoppe - you will not be disappointed! Flavors were amazing: purple haze and salted caramel pecan! Yummy! I really felt relaxed and happy there, and but belly was super happy! This is the kind of place to go once in a while or when hanging w friends/family. It's all about celebration and togetherness. I also must say the server (wish I knew his name) was so patient and helped to explain the menu and sample some flavors. We went with a banana split fantasy or something, but it was perfect! See you soon CHERRY smash!!! Sooner than later! ;)
(5)Trang Q.
Love this place. Its so cute and a very friendly atmosphere. A friend recommended me to go with the kids and this was my first visit. will definitely come back. the place have lots of antique stuff that make you feel like back in time. it's also good for the kids to know the old stuff.:-) lots of ice cream selections and also have soda float.
(5)Emily J.
If it wasn't so crowded and packed, I would be coming here way more often (which is a bad thing, because I don't think my body would appreciate it). I love the retro candy selection and old-time nostalgia, but that isn't what I came for. THE ICE CREAM! Wow. I love love love ice cream, and it doesn't disappoint. The birthday cake ice cream is amazing, it is different than most birthday cake ice creams because the "cake" pieces taste more fresh than anything else. Also, the cookie monster ice cream is so so good, but be careful if you are going anywhere after eating that because it will look like you've been doing very naughty things to the cookie monster himself. Takes a while to get that color out of your mouth. It is a bit pricey and crowded, but much better than sitting on the couch and eating Blue Bell from the gallon container with a spoon.
(5)Mikesha L.
Great Service Great Atmosphere Great Ice Cream. It was a nice experience will definitely go back again!
(5)Juan M.
I've been passing by this place for the past couple of months and finally had a chance to stop in and try the ice cream. Not only was there a unique variety of ice cream, but the decor was awesome! Reminded me of one of the ice cream parlors I used to go to up north when I was a kid, just on a more elaborate scale! Most of the sundaes seemed to be around $10 from what I saw which seemed kinda pricey, but they're cone prices were about what you would pay at any other ice cream shop. Needless to say I'm willing to go back and try more of their goodies! It's truly a hidden gem, due to the fact that business signs seem to be frowned about in this section of South Florida!
(4)Tylena A.
I came back a second time and the customer service was great! Young people were working the cash register and dishing the ice cream. They gave me lots of samples, told me their favorites and even gave me a little extra because I was so indecisive. Love the ice cream as always!!
(4)tara g.
Cute little ice cream shop. My husband and I went on a Saturday night around 8:45 p.m and left around 9:15 (we ate inside). The ambiance was awesome and the music made me feel like I was a kid again (Elvis, Blues Brothers). The service was exceptional - we had a very sweet girl who got our order perfect (which rarely happens anymore). The ice cream was amazing - reminded me of Jacksons in Fort Lauderdale. My husband got the birthday smash which tasted exactly like eating raw cake mix, and I got a sundae - both of which was delicious. We will definitely go back. If you see a crowd, don't worry - line goes quick because the servers know what they are doing. Great job Cherry Smash!
(5)John H.
Literally the best ice cream I've ever had. I don't eat sweets but when it comes to this place I'm a completely different person. My two favorites are the Oreo ice cream and the crazy cake. The crazy cake tastes like a birthday cake and once you start eating it you're hooked. I usually get a couple scoops in a cup so I can take it home and save for the rest of the week. Once it hits the freezer at home it's open game though and if I don't eat it, the girlfriend will!!!Perfect cure for a sweet tooth. The place is so good I almost forgot to mention the atmosphere. It's what I'd imagine an ice cream shop would've looked like back in the day. Old school toys, cash registers, signs, etc. It also transforms during the holidays, for example during Halloween the back was turned into a type of haunted house. Not too scary for the kids though. Me and the girlfriend usually end up stopping by once a week. Anyone in the area definitely needs to stop by. We can't get enough of it. Incredible service and the staff is always extremely friendly. 5 stars all the way! This place gets busy but it is well worth the wait!!!
(5)Jacki O.
Great place!!!! It has personality and possibly some of the best ice cream flavors!!! The spongebob and cookie monster are by far my favorite flavors!!!
(5)Ted S.
Cherry Smash is an old school ice cream and soda place like they used to have in pharmacies back in the 40s and 50s. They have DELICIOUS ice cream. Try the salted caramel praline.. It will blow your hair back. My friends always get the egg creams and my dad and mom try a different flavor every time we come in. I'm one of those "Find the good thing and stick with it" people. Seating is kind of limited and it's well-known so be prepared to wait in line and maybe wait for a seat. It's great though so don't let that deter you. Do it!
(4)G C.
This place is such a fun place to have ice cream. The decor is out of this world. Lines are long sometimes but worth the wait.
(2)Shannon H.
Love this place there so good, only downside is the place is kinda small so limited seating try to get there early. Love love love the Cookie Monster.
(5)Robert C.
The best ice cream parlor in south Florida with a museum of antiques. Great flavors, great sundaes. I love it but since I found out I'm diabetic I can only have their sugar free ice cream which is so so. But I go anyway. It's a very hot spot.
(5)Crystal W.
Wow, stepping into this parlor is like stepping into the past. It's an adorably quaint old-fashioned ice cream parlor. There's an astronomical amount of memorabilia - enough to take up an entire room all by itself! There is plenty of seating available for the patrons though. They have classic shows/movies playing. There's even a flat-screen that sits low enough for children to enjoy. They also have a small train running along the entirety of the store at the top of the wall. Since the boys enjoy trains, they really love this. The bathrooms are decorated and clean. They even smell nice! The women's bathroom is decorated with huge lollipops and candy buttons on the wall. The men's bathroom has a scary witch holding a platter as you walk in the door. There's cutouts of many different characters. My children won't go into the this bathroom. They told me it frightens them. Of course, to be honest, it kind of freaks me out a little too. The employees are friendly and answer any questions you may have about their products. They have so much to choose from - sundaes, ice cream floats, malts, milkshakes, lattes, macchiatos and much more! We were offered samples before placing our order to ensure we liked the flavor. Of course, I didn't actually sample any of the flavors. I just picked something and went with it. On one particular visit, my youngest chose "Cookie Monster," which seems to be a blue, vanilla ice cream with chunks of oreo cookie. My nine-year-old chose "Superman" and some other ice cream that tasted like cotton candy. I chose the orange creme. On another visit, they both ordered "Superman" and I orded the "Purple Haze," which is a raspberry flavored ice cream with small, dark chocolate, raspberry-filled squares. The orange creme ice cream is mild and creamy. It was delicious. The raspberry flavor of "Purple Haze" is not overpowering either. The small chocolates make for a nice surprise, especially after biting down on the first one to find it was filled with a raspberry filling. This is my favorite so far. The boys devoured their ice cream. However, I managed to get a few bites in both times - hey, that's what parents do! I was very excited to try the "Superman" flavor, because it's made of multiple colors. I assumed it was made with multiple flavors also. I took a bite and was immediately letdown. See, I was disappointed that it has so many colors, yet it's only made from vanilla. What is that?? Why not have a different flavor for each color? THAT would make it unique. Otherwise, it's just vanilla ice cream with different colors swirled together. Oh well! As far as the "Cookie Monster" and the cotton candy ice cream go, I'm not really a fan of oreos or cotton candy - so those were okay, but not for me. I'm glad the boys liked them. We'll definitely come back, since the boys seem to enjoy this place so much. The store has a LOT to take in, so I already know that I missed a bunch of things that make this place distinctive and special. If you're in the area with a craving for something sweet, this place will hit the spot. They're open seven days a week. Conveniently located on the southeast corner of Wiles Rd and Riverside Dr, go check them out!
(5)Jo H.
This place is awesome! Not just another boring business with no personality! The line was out the door. I got the cotton candy flavor and it was delicious!!!! Love this place!
(5)A A.
We LOVED this place. The decor is so quirky and old school. There was a line out the door but it moved quickly. The ice cream was SO GOOD. We both agreed it wasn't OVERLY sweet as so many ice creams are. Sure, its sweet because DUH its ice cream but it didn't leave me feeling like I had a cavity. Can't wait to go back!
(5)Caroline G.
Not much to add to the good reviews on here- we love it, the kids love it- just wish it was a little bigger inside because it can get crowded.
(4)Rabia J.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. (Written in circa 1920s-30s.) Well Cherry Smash is screaming good ice cream and a smashing good time for sure. Just like the 1920s song, this ice cream parlor has a ton of antiques and memorabilia from the 1920s and onwards. Literally the first fifteen minutes Sam and I were checking out the unique things they had showcased. They had so many items to showcase they actually made their business bigger this year by getting the place next door as well and combining both spaces. The train going around the top of the ceiling was my favorite. On to the ice cream: it's delicious and creamy. And you might scream for more. The first time we got the big brownie sundae but the brownie was not very warm or moist and it was mediocre. I suggest skipping the gourmet sundaes like brownie sundaes etc and just stick to their ice cream options by itself in a cone or cup. Overall, it's a great experience and atmosphere for the whole family and you might be screaming or dreaming for more.~
(4)Dani T.
Sooooooo yummy! From the ice cream to the awesome inside decor, this ice cream spot is great.
(5)Christine B.
This place is amazing. The whole ice cream parlor is decorated and takes you back to the 1950s! The staff is friendly and the ice cream is on the pricier side but you do get what you pay for! Both taste and a great experience! I will be coming back again!
(5)Chris P.
What a delight! Not only is the atmosphere incredible but their ice cream is delectable! It's like stepping into a time machine. It was a Saturday night so the line was out the door but it was worth the wait. We had a larger party so we got to try many different items. Their shakes are delicious - their cones are spot on. Definitely give it a try. We will be back again!
(5)A F.
Great place to go with kids and friends from out of town. Ice cream is delicious and the decoration is just amazing!
(5)Michelle S.
First time here. Very neat place. The kiddos loved it. Antique old fashion stuff to look at. Yummy Ice cream. They have fun flavors. I enjoyed olaf flavor. That is the cake batter and frosting. Yum! Fun ice cream shop. Friendly staff.
(5)Danielle Y.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Cherry Smash. I could literally eat their homemade ice cream every day and I probably would if they were closer to me. When I first walked into Cherry Smash, it reminded me of Jaxson's in Dania Beach. The main difference between Cherry Smash and Jaxson's is that Cherry Smash doesn't serve food. But I'd prefer Cherry Smash over any ice cream parlor any day. Cherry Smash sells old fashioned candy as well as homemade ice cream. My favorite ice cream is cookies & cream (Oreo) and I always top it with Oreos. Make sure to check into Yelp for their 2 free toppings. I've had their banana split before and that was delicious. My boyfriend has tried different flavors including Cookie Monster (which is a mix of the Oreo and cookie dough), Sponge Bob (which tastes just like a sugar cookie), Purple Haze (raspberry), chocolate chip, and mint chocolate chip. He prefers the mint chocolate chip out of everything he's tried. I on the other hand am simple - Oreo ice cream with Oreo toppings every time, boring I know. If you want delicious ice cream, you have to go here!
(5)Sharon P.
The only ice cream shop I've ever seen top of a sundae with cotton candy! This fun, vintage designed ice cream shop has the best atmosphere and ice cream. Sixties music plays... but it's not loud. The banana split will split your pants if you try to eat it all by yourself... It's enough for 4-6 people! This is a great place to pop by or plan a birthday party. Fun for any age!
(5)Adam F.
Classic ice cream shop. Absolutely worth a visit, but make sure you stay there to eat. Long lines make it tough to bring home for takeout.
(4)Cheryl K.
Update to my earlier review - Cherry Smash has expanded into the store next to their shop and now there is plenty of seating. So not only do they have delicious ice cream and toppings in an old fashioned ice cream parlor atmosphere - now they have enough room to seat their ice cream guests who get to sit surrounded by all of the memorabilia while classic tv and movies play on the overhead screen/speakers. Great place to go for a birthday celebration too - they really make a big thing out of it! Ps - tried the almond joy icecream last night - it was like crack - I was instantly addicted and couldn't stop eating it until it was gone
(5)Joseph C.
Love this place! Americana antiques everywhere. If you want to time travel check this place out. Reminds me of the iconic Jacksons in Hollywood.
(5)Lori A.
This is not just a normal icecream shop, this place is a museum of everything good and pure in good old US. You walk in and smile, you order an icecream and never heyday. This place is imperfect escape. I live the Bannana Split Fantasy and the Birthday Explosion. Try not to go on busy times, because you would have a loonnggggg wait in line.
(5)Tony S.
Great place for ice cream. Delicious range of flavors. Friendly staff, always smiling. Beautifully appointed place. If you're a fan of americana you've gotta see this place. Kids and adults both will enjoy the vibe here.
(5)Rick K.
Great place. Better ice cream!
(5)Matthew H.
Been here a few times now! This place is set up amazing in regards to its decor! I feel like I'm in a 1950's ice cream shop or possibly Disney land. They have over 30 flavors of ice cream. My fav is cotton candy. They even put real cotton candy on top! Wow!! I also love the chocolate New York egg cream...so dam good. I would recommend this place to any and all family/friends!
(5)Chelsea K.
This place is interesting, but it kind of seems like a lesser "Jaxson's Ice Cream" - which honestly, they just cannot beat. Customer service? Not great. Ice cream - FINE. There's nothing crazy special about it... I can get the same kind of creations at Dairy Queen. But... you have the ice cream... you have the Americana decorations to ooh and ahh at. So hey... it's a step up. It's just nothing AMAZING. If you want an amazing Ice Cream experience, head to Jaxson's in Dania.
(3)Catrina K.
We stumbled on this place by accident, Googled it and decided we had to visit....the decor, the trains, the friendly staff and not to mention the ICE CREAM!!!!! The whole entire restaurant was singing 'Let It Go' from the movie Frozen, we had soooooo much fun.....this will def be the Sunday spot for me and my family!!!!!!!
(5)Rich J.
I in love with smash cherry so much I go there everyday most there are the best in the town in coral springs.
(5)J S.
Wow, I am so lucky / or not so lucky to have one of the best ice cream parlors ever so close to my home. This is the epitome of a homemade ice cream parlor. Cool antiques litter the restaurant, great ice cream selection, toppings galore, and a happy vibe. The young girls behind the counter are always smiling and happy to help. Give this place a try, because there is no better ice cream, especially not in the freezer section at your favorite grocer.
(5)Jerry S.
With flavors like, "hulk smash", "cookie monster", "superman" and "olaf's wonder land", what's not to like? It's a fun little place to bring the kids or your wonderful, beautiful, amazing wife. All the fun of an old-timey ice cream parlor.
(5)Keli R.
I mean. It's an ice cream shop it's REALLY CUTE. It's Kitschy but the ice cream? It's just ok. It tastes like Hershey's... which isn't BAD.. I just kind of expected to see them making their own in the back...engaging the customers...it seems like THAT kind of place. Families will LOVE this place..as you can see they already do...but.... For me, If I'm going to be a glutton and eat all of those calories... I'd rather go to a place that makes their own.
(3)Xochitl P.
I LOVE THIS ICE-CREAM JOINT! It's so unique, and fun to look at. The ice-cream is great too!
(5)Reid S.
Good ice cream. The atmosphere is cute but gives me the chincy feel that folks born in the 50s and 60s will love and say wow what a great place. The nostalgia always sells. Would def go back. It's a cool place to bring the kiddos.
(4)Chetna J.
We tried coffee and orange-icle. Although, we ordered one scoop of each but hardly could taste coffee but orange favor was really unique and creamy.
(5)Jenna M.
Yumm! Awesome ice cream but the place is even better! You can make our own delicious creations or choose from their tasty menu. Walking in and you will feel like your in a candy ice cream parlor Form the 50s the decor is amazing they have so much awesome antique items that your kids will feel like they are in a toy museum ! I always get the Sunday and add extra caramel! Beware these ice creams are huge! So either share or be very hungry! The only reason I didn't give them a 5 is their operation concept . It's very unorganized ... You first make The line you order and the person that tea your Order is the one To make your ice cream . At one point you will have 3 attendants on the register trying to take different clients payments . I would rather make A line pay than wait for my ice cream in a organized manner. This is fine on a slow day but on a busy time this can be a nightmare! But I love ice Cream so the product out weights that problem!
(4)Julie T.
Try the Cookie Monster ice cream. It's good, but you'll later look like you ate a smurf. There is tons of vintage/old school stuff in here and you can tell one of their favorites is the Pinocchio marionettes. The back room is really cool to look at and see all the trinkets, but I found it it little too dark for it being 5:00 in the evening. The front is nice and bright with cute little tables and chairs. I wish they had a water cooler there for those water cravings you get after you eat a nice creamy ice cream. There is TONS of candy here as well. It brought back funny memories full of fake candy cigarettes, waxy bottles of juice and sticky candy necklaces. They have a lot of flavors, and I their ice cream is really fresh and home made. I tested the cookie dough, the cookie monster (blend of blue vanilla ice cream with cookies and cream & cookie dough), and the sugar free vanilla swirl. The SF ice cream was actually really good too but I wanted something more decadent. I'll come back and maybe try the toasted coconut, and not get a chocolate dipped cone. It just gets to be too much sugar for me.
(4)Tanya L.
I am not a fan of ice cream but my boyfriend wanted to try this place out. Arriving to the plaza you can't help but notice all the lights. Kind of reminds me of Christmas. Walking in they have lots of décor. Everything is old fashion. Super cute. Makes you feel like a little kid. They have a variety of ice cream. I wanted to play it safe so I ordered a small cone with strawberry and chocolate. I thought this would be small. To my surprise I had a mountain on my ice cream cone. The ice cream was delicious. The combination of chocolate and strawberry was amazing. My boyfriend ordered a chocolate smoothie. It was also large but he was happy. They have a seating in the back. Where they have lots of antique decorations. You can't help but to be mesmerized. My favorite was that they were showing the Grease movie for everyone to watch. The atmosphere here is fun and gets you in a good spirit. They have lots on the menu to choose from. I would like to come back for a Banana split. It is a great place for kids. Service was fast and everyone was very friendly. The place is super clean. I shall be back soon!
(4)Ann R.
Love this place!!!! The place is decorated in old memories & just absolutely adorable! !! this place doesnt compare to that overpriced jaxsons... you can keep it! This place is just like an old fashioned ice cream parlor!!! Definitely worth coming to!!!!!
(5)Joe M.
This place is incredible! Super good ice cream, huge variety, friendly staff, and awesome ambience. It is like going into a museum of the cool old stuff, so much to see... They always have a new flavor to try and I usually get that one. :-) Been there dozens of times and always love it. Also, not expensive, don't let the fancy looking place fool you.
(5)Barbara R.
I love this place. I've been eating ice cream here since last year and I can't stop! I didn't even enjoy I've cream before I found Cherry Smash. It's good for groups, amazing for kids, old for everyone! There are many choices and they also have seasonal ice cream. I can't wait for apple pie to come back this winter (hopefully). I always get one scoop of coconut Ice cream with mini m&ms and hot fudge. I'm a regular! I always take everyone to cherry smash to experience the 50s theme atmosphere.
(5)Marina M.
A wonderful ice cream parlor full of nostalgic decor that has recently been expanded into an even larger area! The 1939 firetruck parked on display in the back was my father's for many years and when I heard it was in it's final resting place, I knew I had to check it out. I'm so happy that one of my greatest childhood memories has it's last home at Cherry Smash. Definitely a great place to take a date, friend, or the whole family :)
(5)Jeff V.
What better place to eat ice cream than this nostalgic gem. The old school memorabilia provide great ambiance, perfect for family and friends. The gentlemen that helped me was quick to provide their favorite suggestions when the sight of delicious ice cream impeded my decision making abilities. I tried the hulk in a cone bowl and by golly, it was great.
(5)D C.
This place is quite authentic quirky unique and simply a pile of a kids imagination! When you walk in, this stand still parlor ship is nothing short of memory lane. A plethora of memorabilia's! You'll noticed a Pinocchio cake that sits on the counter just waiting for your attention. They have one delicious banana foster! It's sugary and full of a caramel undertone! So tasty! Having s banana split, you will most certainly need s partner in crime to help with the massive amount they dish out! They are friendly and extremely customer service orientated! This place you will not go wrong, for a date, a simple treat yourself, or s place to hang out after a game! Beware everyone knows the secret! Do you get in early, they can and will get busy!
(5)Robyn W.
Ice cream was delicious and even a two scoop sundae was quite large! The place looks cool (totally reminds of me the famous jaxons!) it was pretty busy for a Thursday evening (good for them!) Only complaint was the man behind the counter was kinda rude or indifferent. Ki didn't even mention it, the person who brought me said "he doesn't give a crap what you're saying. He looks miserable". All I asked was the two flavors I was getting what I assumed they to be.. Cookie Monster (cookies and cream but blue). Everyone is entitled to be tired or not super perky but when a man notices you seem bothered by the customers that's not good. In my own defense, I even said please and thank you. I will go back!! And I plan to bring friends from Hollywood/davie since we always went to jaxons growing up.
(4)Shel D.
It's like an old school museum - love this place. Was visitin my mom and we wanted a fun place with personality to hang out and grab a quick bite....almost everything in FL is chain stores....I say almost becuase OF THIS PLACE! What a cute place with lots of personality (to say the least). Ice cream was good, but the ambiance and the people is what made it special. Cant wait to go again!!

So good! I always get Cookie Monster (not just for kids). The staff are nice, service is pretty quick and the decorations are one of a kind.

I don't know what else to say other than "wow"! I came here after dinner for my birthday while searching yelp for an awesome ice cream place. This one got really good reviews so we decided to try it out. The ice cream I got was chocolate peanut butter. Ahhhhhmazing. It was so good and they have tons of flavors. They don't even have room to put all of them out on display so the rest are in the back. Lol. The atmosphere is sooooo cool! I'm posting pictures for you guys. Awesome place for the kids. I can't wait to go back!
(5)Grace N.
Cookie Monster Ice cream is my fav. Awesome and cute little place. All types of candy and ice cream available. Very old fashion and lovely
(5)Brandon S.
Amazing homemade icecream! So delicious and satisfying... icecream is my weakness and cherry smash really fills that craving like no other. The chocolate and toasted coconut are my go to flavors.
(5)Dan M.
Cool place but no yogurt contrary to previous reviews. :( Everyone who can digest ice cream liked it. Lots of neat old chotchkies to look at too.
(4)Nicole J.
We've been here a couple of times and always experience the feel of an old fashioned ice cream parlor. There are lots of flavors and the ice cream is good. Our kids love it. We usually just have a scoop of ice cream but in the last visit one in our party had a milkshake and one a hot fudge sundae. The shake was thick and the hot fudge sauce rich. Great place for celebrations.
(4)Ilona P.
This place is so cool! Sundaes, scoops, shakes and more! Very nostalgic decor, someone must have just accumulated all of these knick-knacks over the years. Family owned and operated; you know how nice that is. I'm not sure how many different flavors they offer but they certainly have baskin robins beat! They'll happily offer a taste of everything so come in and try it sometime.
(5)Ceci M.
Great vintage style cream shop with toy train running near ceiling. Great for kids and adults. Great ice cream, lots of flavors and old style candy. Set up for Halloween at the moment.
(5)joan v.
This is the best ice cream in the area! The "crazy cake" flavor is delicious and you must try the "salted caramel praline" if you're a fan of caramel. I will certainly be back!
(5)Crystal M.
If anyone has been to Jackson's ice cream in dania beach, this is like it's little brother. Except it is not as crowded. It went on a Friday night after dinner, and as soon as you know when you feel like you have stepped back in time. There is a soda fountain counter, which has a lot of old candies, apothecary jars of candy then it, I milkshake machine... A lot around this place. They also have a large section in the back where you can view replicas of a gas station a barbershop and another soda fountain. There is even an entire fire truck in the building. I was a little full when we got in, so I just ordered a small Sunday. It comes and a glass Sunday container and I ordered salted Caramell. It comes with either hot fudge or Caramell, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. It was six dollars for the small We got to sit in the back and look at all the old stuff, and watch grease on the TV. It was a very enjoyable experience, I'm glad it is in coral springs and I will be coming back.
(5)Rob R.
This place is fun, clean, the service is great and the ice cream is amazing. I really want that Superman costume in that old fashioned phone booth near my table where I was eating. I would stay here all day if I could but sadly I need to loose a few pounds. I highly recommend the place.
(5)Cassie P.
This ice cream store doesn't seem like it belongs in Coral Springs in 2013! The shop is filled with antiques- actually more antiques than seating! Such a cool atmosphere- you'll feel like you're back in the 1940's. The ice cream is good too. Big servings! But mostly, you come here for the fun atmosphere.
(4)Marcos S.
Old fashioned ice cream parlor with family friendly atmosphere and great memorabilia from decades past. The ice cream is the star of the show and the always friendly staff is ready to help you decide from the wide variety of flavors and creations. I have to admit I love coming here as much as my kid does!
(5)Erin L.
Ice cream in a cute setting. I think it's rather expensive, but ok for an occasional treat.
(2)Marietta R.
the ice cream was so good. I had an egg cream. I thought i was in NY for a moment. It was so good. My kids liked it. Very friendly staff. The place is so cute and comfortable. Recommend it.
(5)Roxana J.
Was in Boca visiting my mom when she suggested we go for ice cream. We initially planned on going to Jaxson's but we found this closer, similar place so we decided to give this place a try. My chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream was average but my mom's brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge was outstanding! The place has a cute pinnochio collection and an old fashioned parlor vibe which I appreciated. I only wish that they had waitresses to greet and seat customers with menus rather than having to order at the counter.
(4)Raven M.
Great ice cream, unique flavors, but pricy. Yelp has a check in for 2 free toppings which made the value a little better. Not something to go out of your way for but good if you are in the area.
(3)Chris A.
Good ice cream. Great look to the place. Since it expanded and opened the other side, what a difference. There's plenty of room now (very cramped before)...If you want ice cream in the Coral Springs area, this should be your choice...
(4)Jarret S.
It's OK. Seems like a Jaxson's wannabe, but not even close to being as good.
(2)Shawn M.
The family enjoyed a night out for some great ice cream at cherry smash. Staff is courteous and ice cream was yummy.
(4)Mercedes M.
"must go " theres something for everyone no matter the age.. awesome thungs to look at ... #1 customer service.. great music... went for my bday they took a pic posted me on there fb/ig everyone song a song and made me feel special diff would recommend them and different will see me there again
(5)Marty S.
Ice cream is yummy. I think, though, that they need to have take home menus available as soon as you come in because when it's busy guests really don't know what to order until they get up to the counter. This really causes the traffic to back up.
(4)Raina D.
Such a great atmosphere, like Willy Wonka and the fifty's blew up! And the ice cream was top notch. I will definitely go back to try their floats at least!
(5)Frank B.
Fantastic store must see. Ice cream was great service great. Will be back no doubt.
(5)Joanne T.
Great ice cream, great decor and friendly service! I always come here with my family to grab some ice cream and marvel at the cool vintage items. The decorations really makes me feel like I time traveled back to the 60s.
(4)Manisha K.
Holy salted caramel! One of the best salted caramel ice creams I've had yet! This place is like a mini Jackson's ice cream in Hollywood. Gets really busy around 7ish so be prepared for the post dinner line that is usually out the door! They have tons of fun flavors that kids and adults both love! I highly recommend the banana fosters sundae with salted caramel ice cream, they make the banana fosters sauce fresh right in front of you and trust me it's a taste explosion!!! It's located in a plaza and from the outside you would never imagine how neat it looks inside! A must for those in the area!
(4)Pietro S.
Come here cause I had a gift card order the commish for 13 buck don't feel like I got my money's worth it say three scoops I got one probably won't come back Jaxsons is better
(2)Jenn S.
Excellent ice cream, and while there are many different & experimental flavors to choose from, the taste of the old classics like chocolate or mint chocolate chip were not neglected and just as good as the crazier flavors.
(4)Keith B.
What a great place. Helped by Carrie who was just awesome. She kept giving us samples as we told her it was our first time. Step back into time, nostalgia everywhere. In fact the back room, 80% of is dedicated to a museum. We ordered a big sundae for the family and it was served in a glass bowl on a silver platter. When we were served it, Carrie told us to go enjoy it and pay after. Just a real nice homey thing to do. They are doing well so they are expanding into the space next to them.
(5)Y J.
Fun place. Good place to indulge in a treat and have a simple evening out. The wall menu in the shop needs to be placed higher and behind the counter where it is more visible.
(4)Rachel T.
Such a wonderful place! The decor is awesome. Everytime I come here I feel like I'm in another time zone...in a good way. Plus, the ice cream and desserts and unique and to die for! Reminds me of a smaller "Jaxons." Service is really friendly, I feel like it's run by a family or something. Only thing is that the prices were a little steep but worth it for the environment, service and of course the ice cream! I always get the commish which is delicious but runs me about $13 so if you get a sundae, split it. And i don't like root beer floats but my sister loved them when she visited and they are a generous size.
(4)Corey H.
Cool place for some ice cream. Awesome group of antique items on display. People working there are very nice and they give you plenty of ice cream per scoop with all the toppings you need. Def a must go for a nice unique ice cream parlor.
(4)Diana D.
The place for unbelievable sundaes if you don't want to drive down to Dania Beach for Jaxson's. Delicious ice cream flavor choices and the atmosphere is nostalgic, I love every oldies song on the juke box!
(4)Jeremy F.
This place is so much fun! Great ice cream and great candy. Lots of fun memorabilia to look at. The back if full of crazy stuff. They have a huge selection of candy as well. Make sure you check in for free toppings.
(5)Sola M.
I've been hearing about cherry smash for a little over a year... And this weekend I actually tried it with my best friend. I have only myself to blame for waiting so long! Although a bit pricey, this vintage feel dessert joint is an experience, not just for the ice cream. The place is lined with adorable memorabilia circa 40's, 50's, 60's (album covers of Elvis, Paul McCartney, old popcorn machines, not to mention the cool model train that makes the rounds on an overhead track). I had the salted caramel praline flavor, and it was amazing. I definitely will be back for a date night.
(4)Danny G.
Really good ice cream. I recommend "the commish" if you like peanut butter.
(4)Mal W.
Delicious. It was a total surprise to find this in a mini-strip mall in Coral Springs. Huge portions and fantastic ice cream and sundaes. This became a standard post-dinner trip every few weeks. Zero complaints about this place!
(5)Logan L.
Wow I just finished eating a double scoop sugar cone with a scoop of vanilla and maple walnut and OMG I can say without exaggerating, that it was the BEST ice cream I've EVER had. This would be a great place to stop in the spring/summer to grab a cone and then walk around the village for a bit. Cherry Smash satisfy me perfectly.
(5)Alicia C.
LOVE this place. after reading the reviews, i don't really know why people complain about their service. they're quick and friendly, and their ice cream is scrumptious! i don't even really like ice cream but when it's from here, it's absolutely fantastic. they are expanding soon, which i'm super excited for. if you're not a fan of just ice cream, try their bananas foster and their floats. DELICIOUS!
(5)Michael F.
Good ice cream at a higher than expected price. Maybe you're paying for the atmosphere - I don't know. But how about less atmosphere and better valve for the not so easy-to-come-by dollar? Another Yelper mentioned no smiles - I saw the same thing. Saturday afternoon, my son and I on a whim; he's been wanting to stop in here since he saw it. He got a kid's scoop of Superman in a waffle cone and I had a scoop in a waffle bowl ($10 total!!). He didn't even like the Superman ice cream (and he's a Superman ice cream junkie so I HAVE to take his word for it). My Mint Chip was very good. The waffle bowl was ok. I may come back if I'm trying to avoid ColdStone, but I'm not rushing back here for any one reason.
(3)Ilana M.
We got to Cherry Smash last night right after they closed the doors and locked up . My daughter and her friend were bummed . They hasn't closed the register down yet. They opened the doors and let them buy a few scoops for the road . Nice people !
(5)Allen D.
Great flavors fun looking store.
(4)Julie P.
This place is really cool. The workers are super nice and I'm definitely coming back here :D
(5)Jeffrey S.
My friend suggested I try Cherry Smash and I was not disappointed. Super fun atmosphere and really brought a smile to my face to see a place as cool as this in Coral Springs. Highly recommended.
(5)Mellissa F.
It's like a wax museum with a cherry on top. Good ice cream, great atmosphere. We got a coconut ice cream sundae with hot fudge and almonds. So good. The cherry ice cream was ok but it didn't have enough cherries for my taste. There's about 8-10 tables inside and 3-4 outside. They're expanding into the space next door. It will be interesting to see what they do with it. The decorations are over the top but really fun. This is the place that Jackson's Ice Cream in Hollywood Beach wishes they could be.
(5)Suzanne Y.
This is a very interesting ice cream shop. It has a retro theme decoration. We got a banana split and we liked it. I would recommend this place for anyone who likes to reminisce the good ol' days. Cons: ice cream is a little pricey there.
(4)Lauren L.
Really cute place. Ice cream was great. They had a ton of different flavors. I didn't order one, but from watching them being made, the sundaes are huge! Great place to bring kids. Definitely has an old-school ice cream parlor feel.
(4)Joey E.
Awesome dessert place. If you love the retro look, or if you're from that generation, you'll love the ambiance. It's just great here. From the moment you walk in, you feel like this is the kind of dessert place you've been missing. You didn't know you were missing it before, but you'll know it once you're here. The ice cream is excellent, their selection is great, the toppings are varied, and the people here are awesome. Carrie is just an absolute sweetheart, and she's always smiling. Can't help but smile back :) Look at me, I put that smiley entirely without even thinking! I love this place, and I'll be back very soon. P.S. If you check in here, you'll get two free toppings (I only write this for the non-mobile readers).
(5)Frank B.
An amazing variety of freshly made ice cream and a history of 1950 -1960 memorabilia. The service was excellent and willing to help you with your decision, providing you with a small sample to tease your taste buds. The decor is outstanding for it is a great collection items that bring back your childhood ice parlor or corner drug store soda fountain. Be sure to look up at the ceiling for a montage of photographs and do not miss the electric Lionel train making it rounds around the store. A true gem for ice cream or ice cream floats that you remembered as a child. Also, look at the candy display for that hard to find 1960 treats, such as "Bonomo Turkish Taffy" (Banana!) Cheers!
(5)Adrianna U.
Love the vibe of this place. Wish it was bigger, and they are answering that wish soon! Also get salted caramel ice cream... way too good. My boyfriend got a chocolate milkshake, and it was very chocolatey & less on the sweet side, which he liked.
(5)Nadia M.
If you want a giant portion of ice cream for a moderate price, this is the place to go! It's designed to be like an old fashioned ice cream shop and it's full of interesting antiques. Though it just expanded to make more seating, there's still a problem with crowds during the weekends. However, it's not their fault :) It's an excellent ice cream parlor!
(4)Scott S.
I hate comparing 1 place I review to another but with Cherry Smash it helps save a lot of explaining. Cherry Smash is like Jaxsons little brother which is a great compliment. Being compared to one of the greatest ice cream places in the country is pretty good. Cherry Smash has the same old timey theme with large portions of ice cream. Fortunately the portions are manageable for 1 person but 2 people could share. The ice cream is also very good. They have a back room full of antique decorations. They are also expanding so I am looking forward to seeing what it will look like after. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because every time I go they are always out of the cookie sandwich and I really want to try that.
(4)Mark C.
The Strawberry Milkshakes are the BEST!! My wife loves the Black Raspberry.
(5)Katelyn T.
oh my.... Probabaly the coolest icecream parlor I've came in contact with. Walls decked in antiques, ceilings filled with photos of the communities children, ice cream as great as the best ive had. Its all around a good place.
(5)Saulo S.
We go back for the banana foster over and over again ... I love the memorabilia, the place will look much better when they complete the expansion to the next door.
(4)Lisa C.
Great old-fashioned ice cream shop. The portions are huge... My kiddie scoop was plenty. The rainbow sprinkle/chocolate-dipped cone tasted very fresh. Get the salted caramel ice cream!! It was awesome.
(5)Rylan M.
My kids love this place! A great atmosphere with so many things to look at. Great service and the root beer floats are amazing!
(5)James S.
Neat place
(5)Danielle G.
This has been on my "must try" list for a while and I've been excited to try it with all the great reviews, today I drove by and on a whim stopped in. The place is adorable and very cool decor but I am totally at a loss for all the stellar reviews on here. Maybe I just hit it on an off day but jeez.........I got a scoop of Cherry Jubilee on a sugar cone and it was probably the most dismal ice cream experience I've ever had. The ice cream had ice crystals chunked in it, not much flavor at all and the sugar cone was stale and tasted awful on top of the staleness - I couldn't imagine a sugar cone could go bad but this is about as close as it gets. Sorry for those of you who love this place but the selection is sparse and the quality just awful. Big thumbs down for me.
(2)Alex G.
This place is amazing. Looks like a malt shop out front. When you walk to the back, it's like the Back to the Future movie set. Check it out and enjoy one of their sundaes.
(5)Francis L.
Nicely decorated but the ice cream was not good. Would have been better off going to Publix and getting their premium ice cream. If you charge high price then deliver high product.

if you have a sweet tooth this is your place everything is yummy here
